CLUB FINANCIAL AWARDS
Our club is currently reviewing our tax status. During this time, we are able to accept contributions but they are not tax deductible.
Applications and nominations are accepted July 15 - August 8, 2026. All ages and levels who are full club members are eligible to apply. Late applications will not be considered, no exceptions. Applications must be completed by the skater in their own words. They may be handwritten, typed, or videoed. Preference will be given to new awardees. Must be present at the Annual Picnic to receive the scholarship.
KIMBERLY GRIMSLEY EXCELLENCE AWARD
In honor of our past President Kimberly Grimsley. Must apply for this award. The winner will be awarded a minimum of $300 funds by the club using the following criteria for all ages:
Well rounded
Success in the rink including levels and tests passed
Involvement with the club
Volunteer hours in and outside of the rink
Educational achievements
Financial need
Goals
THE ALEX CHILTON PERSEVERANCE AWARD
In Loving Memory of Coach Alexandra “Alex” Chilton
Alex’s favorite story to share with skaters who were struggling was that she herself took Basic 4 four times. She went on to become a USFS Gold Medalist in Skating Skills, completed 21 ice dance tests to earn two Gold level dances and her Pre-Silver Singles test. Alex became a beloved camp and group lesson coach at Ice World.
This monetary award will be given to a full member club skater who has shown perseverance on and off of the ice.
Must apply for this award. The winner will be awarded a minimum of $300 funds by the club using the following criteria for all ages:
Describe a challenge or obstacle you have faced on the ice, off the ice or both. How did you overcome it, and what did you learn about yourself in the process?
What are you currently working on in skating? What steps are you taking to reach your goals?
THE ASK AWARD
In Loving Memory of Coach Alexandr "Sasha" Kirsanov
Coach Sasha was abord Flight 5342 on January 29, 2025. He admired and expected the requirements to be considered for this financial award. The winner will be awarded funds by the club using the following criteria for all ages:
Skaters do not need to apply for this monetary award but we ask for nominations from someone other that the skater themselves or their parent. Self nominations will not be considered. The winner will be awarded a minimum of $300 funds by the club using the following criteria for all ages:

Dedication to practice
Always wanting to learn more
Helpful and kind to others
